Position Overview

SNV Netherlands Development Organisation is seeking an experienced Livelihood Expert to design, implement, and monitor sustainable livelihood interventions that improve household income, food security, market access, and economic resilience. The successful candidate will work closely with communities, government stakeholders, NGOs, producer groups, and private-sector partners to strengthen livelihood opportunities across Ethiopia.

Key Responsibilities

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies, Rural Development, Agriculture, Economics, Social Sciences, International Development, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Development Management, Agricultural Economics, Community Development, or related discipline preferred.
  • Professional certifications in project management or livelihood programming are advantageous.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in livelihoods, economic development, resilience, or humanitarian programming.
  • Experience working with NGOs, donor-funded projects, or international development organizations.
  • Strong background in market systems development and income generation.
  • Experience managing community-based development projects.
  • Knowledge of Ethiopian socio-economic and rural development contexts.
