Job Overview

The Sustainability Procurement Analyst will lead initiatives to embed environmental and social criteria into Nestlé Ethiopia’s sourcing strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sustainable procurement policies that align with Nestlé’s global ESG framework.
• Conduct supplier assessments focusing on environmental impact, labor practices, and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with the sourcing team to integrate sustainability criteria into RFQs, tenders, and contract negotiations.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sustainable sourcing, carbon footprint, and waste reduction.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to climate change, resource scarcity, and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate training sessions for internal stakeholders and suppliers on sustainability best practices.
• Support the development of circular economy projects, such as packaging reuse and waste valorization.
• Prepare detailed analytical reports for senior management and external auditors.
• Engage with local farmer cooperatives to promote regenerative agriculture and improve traceability.
• Stay updated on Ethiopian environmental regulations and international sustainability standards.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of ESG frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and UN SDGs.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Fluency in English and Amharic; additional language skills are a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) or a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development are highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants must have 3‑5 years of proven experience in sustainable procurement, supply chain sustainability, or related fields within the food and beverage sector or comparable industries. Experience working with local Ethiopian suppliers and familiarity with regional market dynamics will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The monthly salary range for this position is 180,000 – 250,000 SSP, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual cost‑of‑living adjustments are part of the compensation package.
