Job Overview

The Senior Network Optimization Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and implementation of advanced optimization strategies for Ethio Telecom’s nationwide mobile and fixed broadband networks. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive network optimization plans for 4G/5G and fiber‑optic infrastructures.
• Perform drive‑test measurements, radio frequency analysis, and capacity forecasting to identify performance gaps.
• Collaborate with RF, Core, and Transmission teams to implement parameter tuning, antenna adjustments, and software upgrades.
• Lead simulation and modeling activities using tools such as Atoll, Planet, and TEMS to predict network behavior under various traffic scenarios.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and regulatory bodies.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices in network optimization.
• Ensure compliance with national telecommunications regulations and international standards.

Required Skills

• Deep expertise in LTE/5G radio planning, optimization, and performance monitoring.
• Proficiency with network analysis tools (e.g., Atoll, TEMS, NetAct, OSS).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and translate findings into actionable improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Project management experience, including timeline and resource coordination.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Amharic is advantageous.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Radio Planner (CRP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) are highly valued.

Experience
