Job Overview
The Senior Power Systems Engineer will lead the design, analysis, and optimization of high‑voltage transmission networks and power generation assets. Reporting to the Head of Transmission Engineering, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe electricity delivery throughout the region. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of transmission line projects up to 400 kV.
- Conduct load flow, short‑circuit, and stability studies using industry‑standard software.
- Develop and maintain system protection schemes and coordination studies.
- Coordinate with generation teams to integrate new renewable energy projects into the grid.
- Oversee the commissioning, testing, and performance verification of power system equipment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, feasibility studies, and cost‑benefit analyses.
- Ensure compliance with national grid codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as PSS®E, ETAP, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
- Strong understanding of high‑voltage equipment, protection relays, and SCADA systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical mindset.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Project management experience with ability to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Knowledge of renewable energy integration and grid modernization trends.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CPEng, PMP, or IEC 61850 are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of five years of progressive experience in power systems engineering, preferably within utility or large‑scale generation environments. Experience with renewable energy projects, grid expansion, and system protection design will be given priority.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 180,000 to 250,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based incentives, health insurance, pension contributions, and other statutory benefits.
