Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all Nestlé Ethiopia products comply with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements. Working closely with production, R&D, and supply chain teams, the engineer will develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures, conduct audits, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive quality assurance protocols for raw materials, in‑process, and finished goods.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and coordinate external inspections to ensure compliance with Ethiopian food safety regulations and Nestlé global standards.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce non‑conformities.
  • Collaborate with R&D to validate new product formulations and ensure they meet quality specifications before launch.
  • Provide training and mentorship to production staff on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards.
  • Prepare detailed quality reports and present findings to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Support supplier qualification and monitoring activities to guarantee ingredient quality.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000, and local Ethiopian regulations.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, SPSS) and quality management software.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Amharic, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Education

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants should have 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience in quality assurance or quality control within the food and beverage manufacturing industry. Experience with large‑scale production environments and familiarity with Ethiopian regulatory frameworks will enhance candidacy.

Salary
