Job Overview

The Aviation Safety Analyst will support Ethiopian Airlines’ Safety and Compliance Department by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on safety data, ensuring adherence to international regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and analyze safety data from flight operations, maintenance, and ground handling activities.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly safety performance reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop safety improvement recommendations based on data trends.
• Support internal and external safety audits, ensuring compliance with ICAO, EASA, and local civil aviation regulations.
• Participate in incident and accident investigations, contributing technical expertise and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement corrective actions and monitor their effectiveness.
• Maintain the airline’s Safety Management System (SMS) database and ensure data integrity.
• Provide safety training materials and briefings to operational staff as needed.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools.
• In‑depth knowledge of ICAO Annex 19, EASA Part‑CAMO, and local aviation safety regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying safety risks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Amharic is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, Safety Management, or a closely related field is required. Candidates holding a Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) certification will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience in aviation safety analysis, safety auditing, or regulatory compliance within an airline, airport, or aviation authority. Experience with safety data management systems and participation in safety investigations is essential.

Salary
