Job Overview
This position focuses on developing and implementing sustainable construction materials for residential and commercial projects in Adama Industrial Park. The ideal candidate will collaborate with architects, urban planners, and government agencies to ensure compliance with international green building standards while reducing environmental impact. Key Responsibilities
- Design and test eco-friendly building materials (e.g., recycled composites, low-carbon concrete)
- Conduct lifecycle assessments for material sustainability
- Partner with local universities on R&D projects for climate-resilient construction
- Train construction teams on sustainable building techniques
- Monitor compliance with ISO 21930 construction sustainability standards
Required Skills
- Proficiency in BIM (Building Information Modeling) software
- Knowledge of Ethiopian construction codes and environmental regulations
- Experience with material certification systems (LEED, Green Star)
- Fluency in Amharic and English
- Project management skills for multi-disciplinary teams
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Experience
3-5 years in sustainable construction materials development, with at least 1 year in East African markets.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 Ethiopian Birr (ETB) per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
