Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Design Engineer to join our elite engineering team in Adis Abeba. This role is critical to our success in the region, as you will be responsible for designing and analyzing the structural integrity of various construction projects, ranging from commercial skyscrapers to industrial warehouses. The successful candidate will utilize advanced computational tools to simulate stress, load, and environmental impacts, ensuring all designs comply with both local and international building codes. Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex structural calculations and modeling for various building types using advanced software.
- Develop detailed structural drawings and specifications for construction teams.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure that construction work aligns with the approved structural designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design challenges during the construction phase.
- Review and approve structural material specifications to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
- Deep understanding of reinforced concrete and steel structural design principles.
- Strong mathematical and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to interpret complex architectural blueprints and geotechnical reports.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in structural design within the construction industry. Proven experience in handling large-scale infrastructure or high-rise building projects is essential. Experience with international building codes (ACI, Eurocodes, or British Standards) is mandatory.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position is competitive and ranges from 45,000 to 75,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and experience level.
