Job Overview
The Learning Experience Designer will collaborate with faculty, instructional technologists, and subject‑matter experts to create engaging, learner‑centered digital and blended courses. You will apply instructional design principles, multimedia development, and data‑driven evaluation to enhance curriculum delivery and improve student outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement interactive e‑learning modules, simulations, and assessments aligned with course objectives.
- Collaborate with faculty to translate traditional curricula into engaging online formats, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards.
- Conduct needs analyses and learner profiling to tailor instructional strategies for diverse student populations.
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle to publish, manage, and track course content.
- Apply instructional theories (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create iterative prototypes and incorporate feedback.
- Analyze learning analytics to assess effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Stay current with emerging educational technologies, trends, and best practices to drive innovation.
- Provide training and support to faculty on instructional design tools and pedagogical techniques.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in e‑learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of instructional design models and adult learning principles.
- Experience with LMS administration and course publishing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Amharic is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects.
- Analytical mindset with experience interpreting learning data and metrics.
- Creative problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ATD, e‑Learning Guild) are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants should have 2‑4 years of proven experience designing and delivering online or blended learning solutions in higher education, corporate training, or a comparable environment. Experience with multicultural student populations and familiarity with the Ethiopian higher education context will be advantageous.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from SSP 120,000 to SSP 180,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered in line with university policies.
