Job Overview

The Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of wind energy projects from feasibility studies through commissioning. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for wind farm development, including scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication between engineering, procurement, construction, and legal departments.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses, site assessments, and resource evaluations to support project selection.
  • Secure permits and regulatory approvals in compliance with Ethiopian energy laws and environmental standards.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Manage relationships with local authorities, community stakeholders, and international partners.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior leadership and external investors.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld throughout project lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in renewable energy project management, preferably wind power.
  • Strong leadership and team‑building capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities with diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
  • Familiarity with Ethiopian energy regulations and permitting processes.

Education

A Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized renewable energy credential are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of ten years managing large‑scale renewable energy projects, with at least five years in a senior leadership role. Experience delivering projects in emerging markets, particularly in Africa, will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 300,000 to 500,000 SSP per month, reflecting the seniority of the role and the strategic importance of renewable energy development in Ethiopia. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances are also part of the total rewards.
