Job Overview
The Credit Risk Modeling Analyst will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining quantitative models that assess credit risk across Dashen Bank’s loan portfolio. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and maintain credit risk scorecards and probability of default (PD) models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Perform data extraction, cleaning, and transformation from multiple banking systems to support model development.
- Conduct back‑testing, stress testing, and model performance monitoring to ensure ongoing accuracy.
- Collaborate with credit officers to integrate model outputs into loan underwriting workflows.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, model governance reports, and regulatory submissions in line with the Central Bank of Ethiopia guidelines.
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations to senior management on portfolio risk trends.
- Stay updated on global best practices in credit risk modeling and incorporate relevant innovations.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in statistical software such as R, Python, SAS, or Stata.
- Experience with credit risk modeling techniques, including logistic regression, decision trees, and ensemble methods.
- Solid understanding of banking products, credit underwriting processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative skills.
- Ability to communicate complex model results to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and strong documentation habits.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees (MSc or MBA) or professional certifications such as FRM or CFA are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Salary
