Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in Hawassa, Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and agriculture.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, experience in conducting environmental impact assessments, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for various projects, including infrastructure development, mining, and agriculture
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for projects
- Collaborate with project teams, local communities, and government agencies to ensure that environmental concerns are addressed
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on environmental issues
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, and NGOs
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in Environmental Science or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and management. Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments for infrastructure development, mining, and agriculture projects is highly desirable.
Salary
The salary for this position is 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.

Training
