Job Overview

This position is part of EPHI’s Healthcare Informatics Division, responsible for analyzing health data to support policy-making, disease prevention, and resource allocation. The role requires expertise in data interpretation, statistical modeling, and healthcare reporting to ensure actionable insights for stakeholders. Candidates will work directly with government agencies, NGOs, and international health organizations to enhance Ethiopia’s healthcare infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and analyze healthcare data from diverse sources including hospitals, clinics, and public health surveys.
  • Develop predictive models to identify trends in disease outbreaks, healthcare access, and population health metrics.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and visualizations for policymakers, healthcare providers, and international partners.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to optimize data management systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct training sessions for healthcare workers on data collection and reporting standards.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, Tableau).
  • Experience with healthcare data standards (ICD-10, SNOMED).
  • Strong understanding of public health principles and epidemiology.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics, Biostatistics, Public Health, or related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are a plus.

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare data analysis, preferably within government or NGO settings. Experience with Ethiopia’s healthcare systems is highly advantageous.

Salary

150,000 – 250,000 ETB per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
