Job Overview

This role involves designing and implementing urban mobility strategies for Nekemte’s expanding transportation network. The position is part of a multi-year initiative to integrate pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, public transit systems, and green mobility corridors across Ethiopia’s growing cities. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop data-driven urban mobility plans aligned with Ethiopian urbanization policies
  • Conduct traffic flow analysis and pedestrian movement studies
  • Collaborate with municipal authorities on road safety improvement projects
  • Design multi-modal transportation systems integrating bus rapid transit (BRT) and cycling infrastructure
  • Prepare technical reports and feasibility studies for urban mobility projects

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and transportation modeling software
  • Experience with Ethiopian urban planning regulations
  • Strong analytical skills for traffic pattern analysis
  • Project management capabilities for infrastructure development
  • Bilingual communication skills (Amharic/English)

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or Transportation Management
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not required

Experience
