Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Urban Planning Specialist to join our growing team in Bahir Dar. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of comprehensive urban master plans and zoning regulations for municipal authorities.
  • Conduct detailed spatial analysis and land-use assessments to inform infrastructure development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmentalists, and architects, to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement processes, including public consultations and government liaison.
  • Oversee environmental impact assessments to ensure all urban developments adhere to national and international sustainability standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and project presentations for high-level government officials and private investors.

Required Skills

Education

Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. A Bachelor’s degree with significant specialized experience may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Experience

A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in urban planning or large-scale infrastructure design is required. Proven experience in working within the East African regulatory framework is highly desirable. Experience in managing multi-million dollar projects is a plus.

Salary
