Job Overview:Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geophysics Research Scientist to join our team in Assosa, Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading research projects in geophysics, collaborating with colleagues from various disciplines, and contributing to the development of new technologies and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement geophysical surveys and experiments to investigate subsurface structures and mineral deposits
- Analyze and interpret geophysical data to identify potential mineralization and optimize exploration strategies
- Collaborate with colleagues from geology, geotechnical engineering, and other disciplines to integrate geophysical data into exploration and mining operations
- Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and government agencies to ensure effective communication and cooperation
- Contribute to the development of new technologies and methodologies in geophysics, and disseminate knowledge through publications and presentations
Required Skills:
- Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related field
- 8-12 years of experience in geophysics research and exploration
- Strong knowledge of geophysical methods and techniques, including seismic, electrical, and magnetic surveys
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and communicate results effectively
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Fluency in English and Amharic languages
Education:
- Ph.D. in Geophysics or a related field
- Master’s degree in Geophysics or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or a related field
Experience:
- 8-12 years of experience in geophysics research and exploration
- 5-7 years of experience in geophysics research and exploration
- 2-5 years of experience in geophysics research and exploration
Salary:80,000 – 120,000 SSP per annum
