Job Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA department at the Gondar production site, overseeing all aspects of product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with ISO 9001 and local food safety regulations.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are promptly addressed.
- Monitor production processes, conduct root‑cause analyses, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with R&D to validate new product formulations and ensure scalability.
- Oversee sampling, testing, and documentation of raw materials, in‑process, and finished goods.
- Train and mentor QA staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management.
- Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of compliance documentation.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, HACCP, and local Ethiopian food safety standards.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, SPSS) and quality software (e.g., SAP QM).
- Excellent problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis capabilities.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to manage cross‑functional teams.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high product standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or HACCP Practitioner are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of progressive experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing or food & beverage environment, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 150,000 to 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with performance‑based incentives.
