Job Overview
The Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day management of Siemens Energy’s flagship solar power plant located near Gondar. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all operational activities of the solar power plant to achieve performance targets.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as capacity factor, availability, and outage duration, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, conducting regular audits and risk assessments.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Develop and manage the plant’s operational budget, optimizing cost efficiency while maintaining high reliability.
- Collaborate with local utilities, government agencies, and community representatives to secure permits, address grid integration issues, and promote stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare detailed operational reports for senior management and external regulators, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
- Drive implementation of digital monitoring tools and predictive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a closely related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Power Plant Operator (CPPO) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience managing large‑scale solar or hybrid power plants, with a proven track record of achieving operational excellence. Experience in the Ethiopian energy sector or similar emerging markets is preferred.
Salary
