Job Overview

The E‑Commerce Operations Manager will lead the end‑to‑end operational strategy for Jumia’s marketplace in the Jimma region. This role is responsible for optimizing order fulfillment, inventory management, vendor relations, and customer service processes to ensure high‑quality delivery standards and cost efficiency. The manager will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including technology, marketing, finance, and logistics, to drive continuous improvement, scale operations, and support the company’s ambitious growth targets. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational plans that align with Jumia’s strategic objectives and regional market dynamics.
  • Oversee order processing, warehousing, and last‑mile delivery to achieve on‑time delivery rates above 95%.
  • Manage relationships with local vendors, ensuring product quality, timely replenishment, and compliance with marketplace standards.
  • Implement data‑driven performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor KPIs such as order cycle time, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead a team of operations supervisors, warehouse staff, and delivery coordinators, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to integrate automation solutions, such as inventory forecasting and route optimization.
  • Identify cost‑saving opportunities and negotiate service contracts with logistics partners.
  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian trade regulations, tax requirements, and consumer protection laws.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, SQL, or business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent leadership and people‑management skills, capable of motivating diverse teams.

Education

Experience

Salary
