Job Overview
The Branch Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operational activities of the Mekelle branch, ensuring seamless delivery of banking services, compliance with regulatory standards, and achievement of performance targets. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all operational functions, including cash handling, account opening, loan processing, and transaction monitoring.
- Ensure strict adherence to the National Bank of Ethiopia regulations, internal policies, and anti‑money‑laundering procedures.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as transaction volume, turnaround time, error rates, and customer satisfaction scores, implementing corrective actions when needed.
- Lead the implementation of digital banking tools, including mobile banking, ATMs, and self‑service kiosks, to enhance service delivery.
- Develop and manage the branch’s operational budget, controlling expenses while maintaining service quality.
- Conduct regular staff training sessions on compliance, risk management, and customer service best practices.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to support product launches and cross‑selling initiatives.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior management on a weekly and monthly basis.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and people‑management abilities with a focus on coaching and performance development.
- In‑depth knowledge of banking operations, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and drive process improvements.
- Proficiency in core banking systems and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with digital banking platforms is a plus.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Banking Operations Professional (CBOP) or AML certifications are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in bank branch operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in implementing digital banking solutions and managing compliance frameworks is highly valued.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 180,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
