Job Overview
The Senior Agronomy Specialist will play a pivotal role in our research and development efforts within the Tigray region. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute large-scale field trials to evaluate new seed varieties and crop protection products.
- Analyze complex datasets from field trials to provide actionable insights for the product development team.
- Collaborate with local agricultural extension services to promote best practices in soil management and pest control.
- Develop technical training modules for farmers and local distributors regarding new product applications.
- Monitor regional agricultural trends to identify new market opportunities and potential challenges.
Required Skills
- Advanced expertise in plant pathology, soil science, and crop physiology.

Education
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Crop Science, or a closely related field is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level position. Candidates must demonstrate a strong academic background in agricultural research methodologies.
Experience
Applicants must possess at least five years of professional experience in agronomic research or field management, preferably within a multinational agricultural company. Proven experience in conducting field trials in East Africa is a significant advantage. You should have a track record of successful project implementation and data-driven decision-making.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 75,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. This competitive package reflects the high level of expertise required for this role.
