Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydropower Systems Architect to lead the design and implementation of large-scale hydroelectric projects. This role is critical to our mission of expanding renewable energy capacity in East Africa. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual and detailed architectural design of large-scale hydropower plants.
- Perform complex system simulations to optimize turbine efficiency and grid integration.
- Collaborate with civil and mechanical engineers to ensure structural integrity and operational synergy.
- Oversee the technical specifications for procurement and installation of major electrical components.
- Conduct rigorous risk assessments and reliability studies for high-voltage electrical systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians.

Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in electrical system modeling and simulation software.
- Deep knowledge of hydroelectric turbine technology and generator synchronization.
- Strong understanding of high-voltage substation design and protection schemes.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills in complex engineering environments.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in local languages is an advantage.
Education
A Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline is mandatory. A PhD in a specialized energy field is highly preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the design and development of large-scale power generation systems, specifically within the hydropower sector. Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects from conception to commissioning is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 75,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and technical proficiency.
