Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and charismatic Front Office Manager to lead our reception and concierge teams in Harar. This role is pivotal to the guest experience, ensuring that every arrival and departure is seamless and memorable. The successful candidate will oversee daily front desk operations, manage guest relations, and coordinate with other departments to maintain the highest standards of service. This is a significant employment in Ethiopia for a hospitality professional looking to ascend to a leadership role within a multinational corporation. You will be responsible for maximizing room occupancy, managing front office staff, and ensuring that all local and international guests feel at home in the historic city of Harar.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily front desk operations including check-in, check-out, and guest billing processes.
- Lead, mentor, and train a diverse team of front office associates to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Manage guest feedback and resolve complex complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Maintenance departments to ensure room readiness and quality standards.
- Monitor front office KPIs such as occupancy rates, ADR, and RevPAR to drive revenue growth.
- Implement local and international hospitality protocols to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Advanced leadership and team management capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and local languages.
- Proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep understanding of hospitality revenue management and guest service standards.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certifications in hotel management or customer service excellence are highly preferred.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel front office operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment is required for this job vacancy in Ethiopia.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on experience, performance, and qualifications.
