Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Hydrometallurgical Plant Manager to oversee our complex mineral processing facilities in Semera. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and optimize all hydrometallurgical processes, including cyanide leaching and ion exchange systems.
• Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure gold purity and recovery rates meet international standards.
• Manage plant budgets, capital expenditure (CAPEX), and operational expenditure (OPEX) to ensure cost-effective production.
• Lead and mentor a diverse team of chemical engineers, metallurgists, and plant operators.
• Ensure strict compliance with Ethiopian environmental regulations and international safety standards (ISO/OHSAS).
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven process optimization and automation.
• Coordinate with the mining department to ensure a steady and high-quality ore feed to the plant.

Required Skills

• Advanced expertise in hydrometallurgical process design and optimization.
• Strong leadership and strategic decision-making capabilities in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in metallurgical modeling software and process control systems (DCS/PLC).

Education

A Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree with significant advanced professional experience may be considered under exceptional circumstances.

Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 years of experience in large-scale mineral processing plants, with at least 4 years in a senior management or supervisory role within a gold mining operation. Proven track record in managing complex chemical processes and large technical teams is essential.
