Job Overview
The FinTech Solutions Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, secure, and high‑performance fintech solutions that support Ecobank’s digital banking initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Technology & Innovation, you will work closely with product managers, software engineers, data scientists, and external partners to translate business requirements into robust architectural blueprints. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Ecobank’s platforms are future‑ready, compliant with regulatory standards, and capable of delivering seamless customer experiences across mobile, web, and emerging channels. Key Responsibilities
- Design end‑to‑end fintech solution architectures that align with Ecobank’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define technical specifications, integration points, and data flow models.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of technology stacks, cloud providers, and third‑party services.
- Develop and maintain architectural documentation, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure security, scalability, and performance through rigorous design reviews and testing protocols.
- Mentor development teams on best practices in micro‑services, API design, and DevOps pipelines.
- Stay abreast of emerging fintech trends, blockchain innovations, and digital payment ecosystems to recommend strategic enhancements.
- Coordinate with compliance and risk teams to embed regulatory controls into solution designs.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong background in designing micro‑services architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Experience with fintech domains including digital wallets, payment gateways, and open banking APIs.
- Solid understanding of security frameworks (OAuth 2.0, JWT, PCI DSS).
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and strategic thinking.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Leadership qualities with a track record of guiding multidisciplinary teams.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in designing and delivering fintech solutions, preferably within banking or financial services environments. Proven experience in leading architecture initiatives, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering projects on time and within budget is essential.
Salary
The annual compensation package ranges from 1,200,000 to 1,800,000 SSP, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated expertise. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
