Job Overview

The Downhole Operations Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the technical performance of drilling operations, ensuring optimal downhole tool deployment, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with drilling teams, geoscientists, and project managers to translate engineering designs into successful field execution. Key Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and optimize downhole tool configurations for various well trajectories.
• Monitor real‑time drilling parameters and downhole telemetry to detect anomalies.
• Collaborate with drilling supervisors to implement corrective actions and improve drilling efficiency.
• Conduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for downhole operations.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and performance dashboards for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with Shell’s safety standards, local regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Participate in post‑well reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer across project teams.

Education
