Job Overview

The Senior Governance Analyst will support UNDP Ethiopia’s Governance and Institutional Development portfolio by providing strategic analysis, policy advice, and technical assistance to strengthen public institutions in the Benishangul‑Gumuz region, with a focus on Assosa. The incumbent will work closely with government officials, local NGOs, and international partners to design evidence‑based interventions that improve transparency, accountability, and citizen participation. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive policy analysis on governance challenges in the Assosa zone, including decentralization, public financial management, and anti‑corruption measures.
• Develop and disseminate high‑quality policy briefs, research reports, and technical guidelines for government ministries and local authorities.
• Facilitate multi‑stakeholder workshops, roundtables, and capacity‑building sessions to promote inclusive decision‑making and citizen engagement.
• Provide technical assistance to regional and municipal officials in designing and implementing governance reforms, ensuring alignment with national development strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of governance interventions using quantitative and qualitative indicators, preparing regular progress reports for UNDP headquarters.

Required Skills

• Demonstrated experience working with government agencies, NGOs, or international development organizations in Ethiopia or comparable contexts.

Salary
