Job Overview
The Pharmaceutical Production Supervisor will lead a dynamic production team responsible for the manufacturing of high‑quality pharmaceutical products. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all manufacturing activities on the production floor, ensuring adherence to GMP and SOPs.
- Monitor batch records, equipment performance, and process parameters to guarantee product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Lead daily shift briefings, assign tasks, and provide coaching to operators and technicians.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, implementing lean manufacturing techniques to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to address deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including production logs, equipment logs, and training records.
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular risk assessments.
- Participate in validation activities, changeovers, and technology transfer projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA, and Ethiopian FDA regulations.
- Proven leadership and team‑building abilities in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven mindset.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and basic IT literacy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production schedules.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or a Master’s degree are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional development.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in pharmaceutical production, with at least two years in a supervisory or lead role. Experience with sterile manufacturing, tablet compression, or liquid fill‑finish processes is highly valued.
Salary
