Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our clinical team in Jimma. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex clinical laboratory tests including hematology, biochemistry, and microbiology with high precision.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced diagnostic laboratory instrumentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control protocols and safety standards in the laboratory.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring timely reporting to medical staff.
  • Manage laboratory inventory and ensure the availability of essential reagents and supplies.
  • Document all laboratory activities and findings in accordance with international health standards.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in manual and automated laboratory diagnostic techniques.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail in data interpretation.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary medical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple testing priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and digital data management.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a closely related field from a recognized institution is mandatory. Professional licensure from the relevant Ethiopian health regulatory body is required.

Experience

Candidates must possess at least 3 years of hands-on experience working in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting.
