Job Overview

The Learning Management System (LMS) Implementation Specialist will lead the end‑to‑end deployment of LMS platforms such as Moodle, Canvas, and Pearson’s own digital learning suite across schools and training centers in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Region (SNNPR). The specialist will collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and IT staff to assess needs, configure systems, conduct training, and ensure seamless integration with existing infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments with educational institutions to define LMS requirements.
• Configure, customize, and deploy LMS platforms, ensuring alignment with local curricula and language preferences.
• Develop and deliver hands‑on training workshops for teachers, administrators, and support staff.
• Provide ongoing technical support, troubleshooting, and system optimization post‑implementation.
• Collaborate with Pearson’s product development team to relay feedback and suggest feature enhancements.
• Maintain detailed project documentation, timelines, and status reports for internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and Pearson’s security standards.
• Monitor usage metrics and generate impact reports to demonstrate value and inform future deployments.

Required Skills

• Proven experience implementing LMS solutions (Moodle, Canvas, or similar) in educational settings.
• Strong understanding of instructional design principles and curriculum mapping.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Amharic.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on user‑centric solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based hosting, API integrations, and basic networking concepts.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Education Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP, CompTIA Network+, or Moodle Certified Trainer are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.

Experience

Applicants must have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience deploying LMS platforms in K‑12, higher education, or corporate training environments. Experience working in Ethiopia or other East African countries, as well as familiarity with local educational policies, will be viewed favorably.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from 120,000 to 180,000 SSP, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
