Job Overview
The Digital Twin Solutions Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of digital twin platforms for SAP’s enterprise customers in Ethiopia and the wider East African region. This position bridges the gap between business requirements and cutting‑edge technology, delivering immersive, real‑time virtual representations of physical assets, processes, and systems. The architect will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including product management, engineering, sales, and consulting, to craft scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, and data‑driven decision making. Key Responsibilities
- Design end‑to‑end digital twin architectures that integrate IoT sensors, cloud services, and analytics platforms.
- Collaborate with customers to capture business processes, define use cases, and translate them into technical specifications.
- Lead proof‑of‑concept and pilot projects, demonstrating value through real‑time simulations and predictive insights.
- Provide technical guidance to implementation teams, ensuring best practices in security, scalability, and performance.
- Develop reusable reference architectures, templates, and documentation to accelerate future deployments.
- Stay current with emerging technologies such as edge computing, AI/ML, and augmented reality, incorporating them into solution roadmaps.
- Partner with SAP product managers to influence product enhancements based on market feedback.
- Present solution proposals and technical workshops to senior stakeholders and C‑level executives.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in digital twin concepts, IoT platforms (e.g., SAP IoT, Azure IoT), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong background in system integration, APIs, micro‑services, and data modeling.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and visualization frameworks.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑centric mindset.
- Effective communication and presentation skills in English; Amharic proficiency is a plus.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in cloud architecture, IoT, or digital twin technologies are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience designing and delivering complex digital twin solutions, preferably within enterprise environments. Prior experience in consulting or a systems integrator role is advantageous.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 250,000 to 350,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and expertise. Performance‑based bonuses and stock options may be included.
