Job Overview
The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients in Ethiopia and the broader East African region. This role involves working closely with cross‑functional teams, including sales, engineering, and product management, to deliver scalable, secure, and cost‑effective cloud architectures that meet business objectives. The successful candidate will act as a technical advisor, guiding customers through migration strategies, performance tuning, and best practices while ensuring alignment with Google’s standards. Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect end‑to‑end cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform tailored to client requirements.
- Lead technical workshops, proof‑of‑concepts, and migration planning sessions with customers.
- Collaborate with sales and product teams to develop proposals, cost estimates, and solution briefs.
- Implement security best practices, governance policies, and compliance frameworks for cloud environments.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of deployed workloads.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the organization.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and Google product updates.
- Contribute to knowledge bases, whitepapers, and case studies that showcase successful implementations.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, etc.).
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform, Deployment Manager, or Ansible.
- Experience with containerization, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Effective communication skills to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and lead multi‑disciplinary project teams.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience designing and implementing cloud solutions, preferably on Google Cloud Platform. Prior experience in consulting or client‑facing roles, as well as a proven track record of successful large‑scale migrations, is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from 250,000 to 350,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and comprehensive benefits.
