Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join our team in Bishoftu, Ethiopia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable agriculture practices that promote environmental stewardship and improve crop yields.
The Sustainable Agriculture Specialist will work closely with farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders to identify and address the unique challenges facing farmers in the region. They will also provide training and technical assistance to farmers on best practices in sustainable agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainable agriculture practices that promote environmental stewardship and improve crop yields
- Work closely with farmers, extension agents, and other stakeholders to identify and address the unique challenges facing farmers in the region
- Provide training and technical assistance to farmers on best practices in sustainable agriculture
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainable agriculture practices and make recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement integrated agriculture solutions that address the needs of farmers and the environment
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Agriculture or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in sustainable agriculture or a related field
- Strong knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices and their application in different contexts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English and Amharic
