Job Overview
The Smart Grid Operations Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and optimization of smart grid projects across the Dire Dawa region. This role involves coordinating with utility partners, technology vendors, and government agencies to ensure seamless integration of advanced metering infrastructure, demand response programs, and real‑time monitoring systems. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute smart grid operation strategies aligned with national energy policies.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced metering and communication devices.
- Monitor grid performance using SCADA and IoT platforms, identifying and resolving anomalies promptly.
- Collaborate with utility operators to design demand‑response programs that reduce peak load.
- Lead cross‑functional teams, including engineers, data analysts, and field technicians, to achieve project milestones.
- Prepare comprehensive operational reports and dashboards for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and Schneider Electric’s quality guidelines.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance grid efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Education

Minimum of five years of experience in grid operations, smart grid project implementation, or energy management, preferably within the African market. Experience working with utility companies and government agencies is a strong advantage.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 250,000 to 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
