Job Overview

The Industrial Safety Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs for Honeywell’s manufacturing facilities in Ethiopia. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses for all manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and work instructions in line with ISO 45001 and local regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analyses, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate safety considerations into equipment design, layout, and process improvements.
  • Deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for all staff levels.
  • Monitor and report safety performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Manage the selection, installation, and maintenance of safety equipment such as emergency shutdown systems, fire suppression, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, auditors, and external consultants during inspections and certifications.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards (ISO 45001, OSHA, local Ethiopian regulations).
  • Proficiency in risk assessment tools (HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA).
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.

Education
