Job Overview

The Aerospace Systems Integration Engineer will lead the integration of avionics, propulsion, and structural subsystems for both commercial and defense aircraft projects. Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineering Manager, the incumbent will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure compliance with international standards, and drive the successful delivery of integrated system solutions. This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing Boeing Ethiopia’s capabilities in system architecture, testing, and validation, directly impacting the quality and performance of aerospace products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of avionics, propulsion, and structural subsystems for aircraft programs.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture models using Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
  • Coordinate verification and validation activities, including hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing and flight simulations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve integration issues and ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation, interface control documents (ICDs), and integration test plans.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance integration efficiency and reduce cycle time.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of aerospace system architecture, avionics, and propulsion integration.
  • Proficiency with MBSE tools such as SysML, MagicDraw, or IBM Rhapsody.
  • Experience with simulation environments like MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, or CATIA.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical thinking.
  • Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Project management experience and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with international aerospace standards and regulations.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) are highly desirable and will be considered an asset.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in aerospace systems integration, preferably within a commercial or defense aircraft program. Experience with international aerospace projects and exposure to regulatory compliance is essential.

Salary
