Job Overview
The Senior Exploration Geologist will lead the design, execution, and interpretation of exploration programs aimed at identifying new mineral deposits in the Jijiga region. Reporting directly to the Head of Exploration, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage field operations, and deliver high‑quality geological models that inform investment decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive exploration plans, including target selection, field mapping, geophysical surveys, and drilling programs.
- Lead field teams in remote and challenging terrains, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to generate 3‑D geological models and resource estimates.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and presentation materials for senior management and external stakeholders.

- Mentor junior geologists and field assistants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in GIS, GIS‑based modeling software (e.g., ArcGIS, Surfer) and 3‑D modeling tools such as Leapfrog or Gemcom.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex datasets into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and report‑writing abilities, capable of presenting technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams in field environments.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Amharic or Somali is an advantage.

Education

Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 250,000 to SSP 350,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances for field travel are included.
