Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hydrometallurgical Metallurgist to join our technical team in Semera. This role is critical to the success of our extraction processes, specifically focusing on the chemical recovery of precious metals from ore. Key Responsibilities
- Optimize hydrometallurgical processes including leaching, adsorption, and precipitation to maximize gold recovery.
- Conduct detailed metallurgical balance calculations and monitor process performance metrics.
- Perform laboratory-scale testing and pilot plant trials to validate new chemical reagents or process parameters.
- Troubleshoot operational issues in the leaching circuit and implement corrective actions immediately.
- Collaborate with the environmental team to ensure all chemical usage and waste management comply with international standards.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior management regarding process efficiency and recovery trends.
- Monitor reagent consumption and optimize chemical dosing to reduce operational costs.

- Advanced knowledge of hydrometallurgical chemical reactions and mineralogy.
- Proficiency in metallurgical modeling software and data analysis tools.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field is required. A Master’s degree in Mineral Processing or Hydrometallurgy is highly preferred.

Candidates must possess at least 5 years of direct experience in hydrometallurgical plant operations, specifically within a large-scale gold mining environment. Proven track record in process optimization and troubleshooting is essential for this role.
Salary
