Job Overview
The E-commerce Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end fulfillment process within the Bahir Dar hub. This role is critical to ensuring that every order placed on our platform reaches the customer on time and in perfect condition. You will manage a diverse team of warehouse staff, delivery personnel, and third-party logistics providers to optimize delivery routes and inventory accuracy. This position requires a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of local infrastructure while implementing global best practices in warehouse management and last-mile delivery. As we continue hiring in Ethiopia, this role will be pivotal in scaling our regional operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, packing, and dispatching of customer orders.
- Optimize last-mile delivery routes to reduce transit times and operational costs.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, delivery speed, and return rates.
- Coordinate with local transport vendors to ensure consistent service levels and capacity during peak seasons.
- Implement inventory management protocols to minimize shrinkage and stock discrepancies.
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics associates to maintain high standards of safety and efficiency.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for operational improvement.
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of Ethiopian transport regulations and logistics standards.
- Excellent communication skills in both Amharic and English.
Education
A Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably within the e-commerce or retail sector. Proven track record of managing large-scale warehouse operations and diverse teams is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 to 65,000 SSP, depending on experience and performance metrics.
