Job Overview

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the end‑to‑end sourcing process for raw materials, packaging, and services required by Nestlé’s production lines in the Tigray region. Working closely with the Category Management team, quality assurance, and production planners, the specialist will ensure timely delivery of high‑quality inputs at competitive prices. Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers in alignment with Nestlé’s quality, cost, and sustainability criteria.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to achieve optimal value while maintaining compliance with corporate policies.
• Develop and maintain accurate purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance records.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to forecast demand, plan inventory, and mitigate supply risks.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics, conduct regular reviews, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure adherence to ethical sourcing standards, including labor rights, environmental impact, and local content requirements.
• Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and market trends for senior management.
• Support the implementation of Nestlé’s digital procurement platform to streamline processes.

• Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and procurement software.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management across multicultural teams.
• Knowledge of local market dynamics, import regulations, and customs procedures.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Fluency in English and Amharic; knowledge of Tigrinya is an advantage.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CPSM or CIPS are considered a plus.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 3‑5 years of hands‑on procurement experience in the food & beverage sector or a related industry, preferably within a multinational environment. Experience in supplier development and sustainability initiatives is highly desirable.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from 180,000 to 250,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a pension scheme.
