Job Overview
This role is ideal for professionals passionate about bridging traditional farming methods with modern agricultural science. The Sustainable Agriculture Extension Officer will work directly with smallholder farmers in Dire Dawa to implement sustainable crop rotation, soil health management, and water conservation techniques. The position emphasizes collaboration with local cooperatives and training programs to ensure long-term agricultural resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site training sessions for farmers on sustainable agricultural practices
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of climate-smart farming initiatives
- Collaborate with local cooperatives to distribute agricultural resources
- Develop and maintain records of project outcomes and farmer feedback
- Coordinate with international partners for technology and resource support
Required Skills
- Proven experience in agricultural extension services
- Strong knowledge of sustainable farming techniques

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field

Salary
150,000 – 200,000 ETB per year, based on experience and performance.
